Pre-Departure

Again on our own.  (Bad joke.)  Ok, so we all leave in like an hour and a half.  Bonus news?  Heather is gonna meet me at JFK in NYC!  One last goodbye.  I hate sad goodbyes, but it’s good to see the love of my life one more time before we’re gone for a long-ass time.  I packed all my bags, probably missing something somewhere, but it’s all done now anyway.

The last 2 days have been a lot of fun.  The first night we partied with the Morocco crew, who left yesterday, and last night it was just our Moldova group.  We all rocked hard in a random karaoke bar in downtown Philly.  The bar kinda reminded me of Cheers, plus a bunch of hammered Peace Corps kids.  As usual, I’m in a rush, so I gotta go before I’m able to get any actual deep thought out, but I’ll try to update again in Instanbul or Chisinau (apparently there are going to be TV cameras and reporters when we get off the plane in Chis)!

WAAAAH!!!! Rock out.

I’m in Philly!!! It’s hard to be away from people, but so far it’s been a lot of fun.  Gotta run!! I’ll be in touch.  We leave tomorrow!!

I don’t know if anyone even noticed, but the site was having some problems being online for the past few days. I fixed the problem…there was a network cable that was sort of broken. Anyway, this should be up fully now.

I leave the 10th for Philly, then on the 12th for Moldova.

I had an amazing 3-day-weekend. Not that I’m working right now, so a weekend isn’t all that special for me, but a lot of people were able to make it out on Saturday night, so it was pretty awesome. Geoff coming down from Boston was a big surprise that certainly made the weekend a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out this weekend, it meant a lot to me.

I guess I’m finally getting pretty panicked about going. I guess not panicked. But the reality is very…real right now. I’m bad at saying things, so that’s all for now. Peace all.

Hey all. This is the first official post of my Moldova blog. No, I’m not there yet, but I wanted to make sure everything was working okay before I left. Cheers!
